Welcome to the Virtual Consulate Gaza

Welcome to the Virtual Presence Post (VPP) Gaza! Thank you for paying a visit to our new website. The VPP is a new tool of U.S. diplomacy that enables us to have a presence in regions where there is no Consulate or Embassy physically located. Through a regular program of activities across Gaza supported by the VPP webpage we aim to enhance interaction and understanding between Palestinians and Americans.

The U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem is proud of this initiative, the first Virtual Presence Post in the Palestinian Territories. Gaza and the West Bank are significant for the United States with an estimated 40,000 American citizens living in the area and many business, trade, educational, governmental, and personal linkages that we hope to cultivate and support via our outreach efforts.  For example, we are working with Al-Azhar University to establish an American Corner, which will serve as a platform for information on and outreach to the United States as well as feature local programs (films, speakers, and conferences) aimed at improving mutual understanding.

We ask that you bookmark our webpage and check regularly for information on upcoming speaker programs, visits, and consular assistance.  We look forward to partnering with Gazans on this exciting program.

~ Jacob Walles, U.S. Consul General, Jerusalem
